Student Council: The Voice, Spirit, and Strength of Students

At KJ College of Pharmacy, we firmly believe that students are the heartbeat of the institution. To channel their potential, perspectives, and passion into tangible impact, we have a dynamic Student Council—a representative body that plays a pivotal role in shaping campus life and fostering student development.

Objectives of the Student Council

The Student Council functions under the guidance of the Principal and faculty coordinators with the following goals:

  • To represent student interests and concerns to the college authorities

  • To organize academic, cultural, and co-curricular events

  • To encourage student participation in community service and national events

  • To foster leadership, discipline, and responsibility among students

  • To ensure transparent communication between students and administration

  • To promote a healthy and inclusive campus atmosphere


Structure of the Student Council

The council is formed through a fair and transparent selection process involving nominations, interviews, and, in some cases, elections. It includes:

1. President

  • The face of the student body

  • Leads all council meetings and coordinates with faculty

  • Represents the college in intercollegiate and official programs

2. Vice-President

  • Assists the President in planning and implementation

  • Takes charge in the absence of the President

3. General Secretary

  • Oversees all documentation, planning, and communications

  • Coordinates between different departments and student committees

4. Cultural Secretary

  • Organizes cultural events, fests, and annual day celebrations

  • Manages participation in intercollegiate cultural competitions

5. Sports Secretary

  • Organizes indoor and outdoor sports activities and tournaments

6. Treasurer

7. Departmental Representatives

  • Elected from each year/department (B.Pharm, M.Pharm)

8. Class Representatives (CRs)

Roles and Responsibilities

The Student Council at KJ College of Pharmacy is entrusted with various roles throughout the academic year:

Planning Events & Activities

From Fresher’s Parties to Annual Day (Adharshila), Workshops to Industrial Visits—the council actively plans, coordinates, and executes a variety of student-driven events.

Promoting Student Welfare

The Council liaises with the Student Welfare Cell to address students’ academic, emotional, and financial concerns. Regular feedback drives and suggestion mechanisms are put in place to improve college life.

Creating a Vibrant Campus Life

The council initiates student clubs like Literary Club, Drama Club, Debate Society, Eco Club, and more—ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Conducting Orientation for New Students

The Council plays a key role in onboarding new batches, explaining the college culture, code of conduct, academic structure, and available student resources.

  4. Pharmacy Week Celebrations – A themed week highlighting pharma ethics, education, and outreach.

  5. Blood Donation & Health Camps – In collaboration with NSS and community health partners.

  6. Inter-Department Competitions – Ranging from sports to academics, drama to debates.
