At KJ College of Pharmacy, we firmly believe that students are the heartbeat of the institution. To channel their potential, perspectives, and passion into tangible impact, we have a dynamic Student Council—a representative body that plays a pivotal role in shaping campus life and fostering student development.
The Student Council is more than a platform for representation—it is a training ground for leadership, a pillar of student welfare, and a bridge between administration and students. It reflects the spirit of democracy, unity, and self-governance, and ensures that every student’s voice is heard, respected, and translated into action.
The Student Council functions under the guidance of the Principal and faculty coordinators with the following goals:
To represent student interests and concerns to the college authorities
To organize academic, cultural, and co-curricular events
To encourage student participation in community service and national events
To foster leadership, discipline, and responsibility among students
To ensure transparent communication between students and administration
To promote a healthy and inclusive campus atmosphere
The council is formed through a fair and transparent selection process involving nominations, interviews, and, in some cases, elections. It includes:
The face of the student body
Leads all council meetings and coordinates with faculty
Represents the college in intercollegiate and official programs
Assists the President in planning and implementation
Takes charge in the absence of the President
Oversees all documentation, planning, and communications
Coordinates between different departments and student committees
Organizes cultural events, fests, and annual day celebrations
Manages participation in intercollegiate cultural competitions
Organizes indoor and outdoor sports activities and tournaments
Encourages students to participate in fitness and athletic events
Manages budget allocation and expense tracking for student events
Ensures transparency and proper fund utilization

Act as communication links between students and faculty mentors
The Student Council at KJ College of Pharmacy is entrusted with various roles throughout the academic year:
From Fresher’s Parties to Annual Day (Adharshila), Workshops to Industrial Visits—the council actively plans, coordinates, and executes a variety of student-driven events.
The Council liaises with the Student Welfare Cell to address students’ academic, emotional, and financial concerns. Regular feedback drives and suggestion mechanisms are put in place to improve college life.
The council initiates student clubs like Literary Club, Drama Club, Debate Society, Eco Club, and more—ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The Council plays a key role in onboarding new batches, explaining the college culture, code of conduct, academic structure, and available student resources.
The council members often represent the college at external forums, intercollegiate fests, seminars, student development programs, and community outreach campaigns.
Adharshila (Annual Day) – Managed entirely by the council, this day marks the celebration of academic and cultural achievements.
Fresher's & Farewell Functions – Organized to welcome new students and bid farewell to seniors in a warm and inclusive manner.
Independence Day & Republic Day – Ceremonial events filled with patriotic fervor, planned by the Council.
Pharmacy Week Celebrations – A themed week highlighting pharma ethics, education, and outreach.

Launching “Students’ Help Desk” for academic guidance and peer mentoring

Leadership and communication skills
Project and time management
Team collaboration and conflict resolution
Event planning and public relations
A deeper understanding of institutional governance
Many council members have gone on to secure scholarships, placements, and leadership roles in their professional careers, owing to their experience and skills developed here.
Faculty advisors play a vital role in mentoring council members:
Guiding them on policies, regulations, and event organization
Assisting in budget approvals and logistics
Ensuring smooth coordination between departments and administration
This collaborative model ensures students learn through leadership, with the support and wisdom of experienced mentors.
The Council operates under a structured code of ethics to ensure transparency and accountability:
All decisions are documented and reviewed by faculty
Funds are managed with proper audit and reports
Council meetings are held bi-monthly or as needed
Student suggestions and complaints are addressed within a fixed timeline
Discipline, inclusivity, and neutrality are maintained in all activities
